Presenting research to a larger scientific audience

Science is better shared

Cara believes science is for everyone, and enjoys finding ways to share it. She believes this helps lower barriers to knowledge and understanding, so that audiences of all backgrounds can meet the scientists behind the discoveries and see how science shapes our lives.

Public outreach

Through public lectures, community events and interviews with the press, Cara shares stories of wildlife, contaminants and resilience with all audiences.

Mentoring students

Mentoring is one of the most rewarding parts of Cara’s work. She mentors high school, undergraduate and graduate students across field, lab, and computational work, and enjoys helping them learn to share their science and build the practical skills to find their own path.
